Passing your practical driving test is the final and most important step to receiving your permanent Driving License (DL) in Udaipur. The Rajasthan Transport Department operates an Automated Driving Test Track (ADTT) at the New Sukher RTO equipped with ground motion sensors, CCTV video evaluation, and computerized scoring.
Because evaluations are automated by software, touching a yellow line boundary or putting your foot down registers an instant computerized fault. Below is a general overview of the track layout, essential documents to carry, and common pitfalls to avoid.
Four-Wheeler (Car / LMV) Test Layout Overview
๐ 1. Reverse-S Track
Reverse your car through an S-shaped narrow track without touching side kerb sensors or excessive pauses.
๐ ฟ๏ธ 2. Parallel Parking
Reverse into a standard 45-degree parking box in a single continuous movement without touching boundary lines.
โฐ๏ธ 3. Up-Gradient Ramp
Stop your vehicle on a steep slope at the yellow line and accelerate forward without rolling back more than 6 inches.
๐ฆ 4. 8-Track Loop
Complete a continuous Figure-8 loop demonstrating steering control and timely turn indicator usage.
Two-Wheeler (MCWG) Test Layout
For motorcycles and gearless scooters, applicants must ride through the Serpentine (Zig-Zag) & Figure-8 Track:
- Maintain steady balance without stalling the engine or putting your feet on the ground.
- Avoid touching the yellow boundary kerbs during turns.
- Wear a standard ISI-certified helmet with chin strap securely fastened.
๐ Required Documents to Carry on Test Day:
- Original Learner License (LL): Must be at least 30 days old and within its 6-month validity period.
- Application Form & Slot Appointment Receipt: Printed official appointment slip.
- Original Aadhaar Card: For biometric photo and fingerprint match at the counter.
- Vehicle with Valid Documents: The car/bike you bring must have valid RC, Insurance, and PUC certificate.
โ ๏ธ Common Mistakes That Cause Instant Disqualification:
- Putting Foot Down on 2-Wheeler: Sensor plates immediately register an automatic failure.
- Rolling Back on Ramp Incline: Slipping backward by more than 15 cm (6 inches) on release of handbrake.
- Forgetting Turn Indicators: Sensor points deduct marks if indicators are not used at turn junctions.
- Reaching with Expired LL: Arriving at the track with an expired Learner License or wrong vehicle category.
๐ Statutory Authority
ADTT testing standards operate under Section 9 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and Rule 15 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989. Track calibrations and evaluator guidelines at Sukher RTO are regulated by the Rajasthan Transport Department.
